Spirit Battle

I prayed, "Please God, come save me!"
I had fallen down again
The darkness overtook me
I had fallen into sin

My flesh was craving this world
It said, "A little sin's okay"
But my spirit man said, "No,
Keep you sinful thoughts at bay"

The Lord, he called out to me
He said, " Run to me my child"
But as I looked inside me
I realized I looked wild

My clothes were torn and tattered
My face was stained with tears
My skin was bruised and battered
Floating round me were my fears

"You kidding? You aren't worthy!"
Was all Satan had to say
That was enough to stop me
So I turned and walked away

That is when I did see it
God's mirror image of me
I stood there in amazement
And the Lord said, "You are clean."

My face had been dried and cleaned
I was dressed in white array
My skin was back to normal
And my fears were dashed away

The Lord said, "Ignore Satan
He tried to keep you away
He is just a pestilence
Of you he had been afraid"

"Because you are my fighter
And so valiant you are
He tried to squeeze you tighter
He just took you way too far"

"Well, he just failed miserably
Because now I have you back
And you're gonna stick with me
You will counter his attack"

I bowed down in God's throne room
For I knew that I was safe
My spirit battle was won
And my heart is now awake

From the Pages of Meditation

Ok.. here are some poems that came out of my meditations and prayers while at ZHOP for my internship over the summer. Welcome to the heart of me during this time of cleansing and realization of my darkness. I'm glad I got it on paper... now I'll never forget this.

Wasted

Take me higher
Hear my plea
I wish to be ruined
Ruined for thee

Send the overflow
Hear my cry
Pour out your spirit
I need you in my life

God sweep me over
My hearts cry is true
I want to be wasted
Wasted on you

Always There

When you lead me through darkness
You are my light
When my life seems so hopeless
You help me fight

You've always been there
Through the good and the bad
You've seen me be happy
You've seen me be sad

You know of my bad side
But you're on the good
You teach me what's right
You see my every move

I've learned to trust
I've learned that you care
My heart is set on you
You've always been there

I've played a game
Of keep away from you
Forgive me God
Remove my shame
Into my heart
speak truth
I need you God

You're wanted here tonight
Im sorry that it took so long
But now please make things right

Last Night

Last night was incredible
I felt your presence tangible
You were in the room and in my heart
Told me I was your work of art

You swept me up into your arms
You held me in your hands
And that is where I rested; still
Away from the world... caught up in your will

This one is my experience one night. God took me from this earth and into heaven and held me in his hand. That is where I rested and I didn't want to leave. But when I got back home to the hotel I slept the most peaceful nights sleep I've ever had!!!
